In this article i will explain the whole process of UHS Admissions for MBBS & BDS 2023-2024

In compliance with the Admission Policy, notified by the Government of Punjab on 27th
September, 2023, the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, invites applications from
the eligible candidates, through its online application portal, for admission to MBBS and BDS

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: UHS Admissions 2023

i. The candidate must have passed the MDCAT-2023 with a minimum of 55% (i.e.
110/200) marks for MBBS and 50% (i.e. 100/200) marks for admission to BDS
program. Provided that the mandatory requirement of MDCAT shall not apply to the
candidates admitted on special program seat pre-defined exclusively for foreign
students and on the seats reserved for Overseas (being a Pakistani citizen permanently
resident in foreign country) Pakistanis, who have studied and passed HSSC 12th grade
examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan. Such students shall qualify SAT-II
with minimum score of 550 in each subject or a foreign MCAT examination or UCAT
examination with 50% marks in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry, and
Physics/Mathematics. Please note that the result of last year’s MDCAT (i.e. MDCAT2022) shall not be valid for seeking admission in the Session 2023-24.
ii. The candidate must possess a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)
qualification or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan (IBCC
Equivalence Certificate is mandatory in this case) and having obtained minimum 60%
marks therein, and has passed the subjects of Biology and Chemistry and either Physics
or Mathematics in the examination.
iii. The candidate must have the domicile certificate of any district of Punjab. Candidates
having domicile of Islamabad (ICT) can apply on open merit seats only.
iv. Those applying on Quota seats must fulfill additional eligibility requirements as
stipulated in the Prospectus.

MERIT CALCULATION FORMULA: UHS Admissions 2023

The weightage criteria for calculation of merit for admission shall be as follows:
Matriculation/SSC/Equivalent – 10%
F.Sc./HSSC Pre-Medical / Equivalent – 40%
MDCAT – 50%

HOW TO APPLY:

Step 1: Carefully review the Prospectus, Session 2023-24 available on the UHS website
(www.uhs.edu.pk).
Step 2: Visit the Online Admission Portal for Government Medical and Dental Colleges
on the UHS website (www.uhs.edu.pk).
Step 3: Create an account by providing your Name, Father/Guardian Name, Email ID and
a Password.
Step 4: First, indicate your preference for the MBBS and BDS programs. You can choose
either MBBS or BDS or both. If you select both MBBS and BDS, you will need
to specify your preference for each program. After choosing a program, select the
category or categories of seats you wish to apply for.
Step 5: Fill in your personal details on the application form, including your name,
domicile, contact information, address, nationality, gender, date of birth, etc.
Step 6: Enter your qualification details, such as your SSC and HSSC marks, year of
passing, subjects/study group, etc.
Step 7: Provide details about your MDCAT or other admission test scores.
Step 8: Determine the order of preference for medical and/or dental colleges. You can
select as many colleges as you wish to enter, depending on the seat category. You
can edit your application until the closing date, but the number and order of
preference will be final and unchangeable after the submission deadline. Colleges
not included in your preference list will not be considered for admission.

Step 9: Upload scanned documents, ensuring each document is within a maximum size
of 2 MB, as specified in the advertisement published in national newspapers on

th October 2023 (also available on UHS website: www.uhs.edu.pk).
Step 10: Read and acknowledge the Undertaking/Affidavit. Verify the provided
information and attachments before submission.
Step 11: Submit the online application. You will receive a confirmation notification via
your email address and primary mobile number. Download and print both the
submitted application and the bank challan for the processing fee.
Step 12: Visit the nearest branch of The Bank of Punjab (BOP) with the fee challan to
deposit the non-refundable Admission Processing Fee of Rs. 2,000 per program.
This fee can also be deposited through online banking. Your application process
is now complete.

ADMISSION SCHEDULE: UHS Admissions 2023

Online Application (Start Date): 16th October, 2023 (Monday) 09:00 AM

IMPORTANT: UHS Admissions 2023

i. Applications must be submitted exclusively through the online portal. Any
applications that are incomplete or are submitted in violation of the prescribed
procedure shall be rejected. Failure to pay the processing fee by the specified due
date shall also result in application rejection. While you do not need to submit a
print-out of the application or the receipt of paid fee to the University, it is
advisable to keep them for your personal records.
ii. The candidature/admission of a candidate found to have submitted
forged/fake/fabricated documents or incorrect/false information shall be
cancelled immediately.
iii. All Merit and Selection Lists shall be made available on the UHS website
(www.uhs.edu.pk).
iv. Selected candidates are required to deposit the prescribed college fees at any
branch of the Bank of Punjab (BOP). Failing to do so within the stipulated time
period shall result in the loss of the right to admission and upgradation in
subsequent list(s).
v. To be considered as admitted candidates, individuals must take two crucial steps:
(a) deposit the prescribed college fee and other dues by the specified due date and
(b) report in writing to their respective colleges by the due date. Only those who
complete these actions will be considered as admitted to the program. Selected
candidates shall be given three (03) working days to deposit the prescribed college
fee in the BOP after the display of the selection list.
vi. Second and subsequent selection lists will fill any vacancies through the upgradation process, which is determined by merit and preference. The shift in such
up-gradation shall be compulsory and mandatory and no exception, whatsoever,
shall be taken under any circumstances. Individuals who are upgraded must
report to their new college by the specified date, and UHS will transfer their fees
to their respective colleges.

In this article i will elaborate the documents preparations for MBBS and BDS University of Health Sciences (UHS) Admission 2023

The process for admission to Government Medical and Dental Colleges in the province of Punjab
for the Session 2023-24 will commence in October. Before that, prospective candidates are advised
to prepare the following mandatory documents in advance to avoid any difficulties while submitting
their applications online. Please note that these documents are of mandatory nature, and without
them, the admission form shall not be accepted:

Domicile Certificate:

The Punjab Domicile is a mandatory document for candidates. Any other document such as
an identity card, B-form, passport, or birth certificate will not substitute for the Punjab
Domicile. Similarly, a receipt of application submitted for issuance of domicile of the
candidate or parent’s domicile on behalf of the candidate shall not be acceptable. Please
keep in mind the following conditions regarding the domicile:
i. Candidates having a domicile of Islamabad (ICT) can apply for
Open Merit seats in Punjab.
ii. Overseas Pakistanis/residents with dual nationality do not require
a domicile for applying to their quota seats.
iii. For candidates applying on seats reserved for the students of
Under-Developed Districts (Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Rajanpur,
Muzaffargarh, Lodhran, Mianwali, and Bhakkar) and Cholistan, it
is mandatory to have a domicile of the relevant district. In the
case of D.G. Khan and Rajanpur districts, candidates applying for
tribal area-specific seats must have “Tribal Area” mentioned on their domiciles.
Similarly, for Cholistan seat, candidates must have “Cholistan” mentioned on their
domicile certificates.

Educational Documents and Their Attestation: MBBS BDS UHS Admission

i. As per the Higher Education Commission’s letter dated May 18, 2023, all candidates
are required to get their Matriculation and F.Sc (Pre-Medical) certificates or result cards
attested by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC).
ii. Candidates with foreign educational qualifications (such as A-levels, IB,
American/Canadian 12th grade, etc.) must:
a. Submit an Equivalence Certificate or Provisional Equivalence Letter for the
equivalent educational qualification of their 10th and 12th grade examinations,
issued and duly attested by IBCC.
b. Candidates who have not received equivalence for “Pre-Medical Group” in 12th
grade examination from IBCC must submit the result card issued by the relevant
board or university (e.g., Cambridge or Edexcel) along with their application, proving
that Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics were their subjects in the 11th
and 12th grades.

Identity Documents: MBBS BDS UHS Admission

i. Identity documents include the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), National
Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), Pakistan Origin Card (POC), B-Form/
Child Registration Certificate (CRC), and Passport. The candidate must submit at least
one of the aforementioned documents.
ii. Along with the application form, the candidate must upload an identity document of one
of the parents (Father/Mother).
iii. Pakistani students residing abroad and holders of dual nationality applying for their
reserved seats must upload one of the following documents:
Iqama or Residence Permit or Green Card or Foreign Passport
Note: For candidates residing in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), it is mandatory to
submit a digital copy of their Iqama downloaded from the Absher or Ministry of
Interior, KSA, official website, displaying the expiry date of the permit, along with
the printed copy of their Iqama.
iv. Identity documents with an expiry date that has passed before the application deadline
shall not be accepted under any circumstances.

Special Documents: MBBS BDS UHS Admission

These are the documents required specifically for applying to Quota Seats. They are not
necessary for candidates applying solely on open merit.
i. Candidates applying for reserved seats for Underdeveloped Districts must submit an
Education Verification Certificate (a template is available on the UHS website) as proof
that the candidate has obtained education from their respective district from the first
class to the twelfth class. This certificate must bear the signatures and seals of the
heads of all educational institutions (schools and colleges) from which the candidate got
his/her education. The verification of this certificate shall be done by the respective Chief
Executive Officer (District Education Authority) and Director of Education (Colleges).
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner of the relevant district shall also attest this
certificate.
ii. In addition to this Education Verification Certificate, these candidates must also upload
their School Leaving Certificates/ Character Certificates/Provisional Certificates from
their respective educational institution.
iii. Candidates aspiring to apply for Cholistan’s reserved seat must upload the Cholistan
Development Authority-issued certificate (a template is available on the UHS website) as
proof that the candidate is a Cholistani by birth and that his/her current place of
residence is in Cholistan.
iv. Candidates with physical disabilities applying for their reserved seats must submit a
Disability Certificate issued by the National Council for Rehabilitation of Disabled
Persons (NCRDP), Ministry of Social Welfare, or the Provincial/District Social Welfare
Department. Based on this certificate, they shall be presented before a Medical Board,
which will assess their eligibility for admission to medical/dental colleges

Photograph, Thumbprint, and Signature: MBBS BDS UHS Admission

i. The candidate must upload a recent photograph along with the admission form. The
photograph should not be older than one month. It should be in color, with a white
background, and the candidate’s face must be clearly visible. Female candidates are
allowed to wear a dupatta or headscarf, but their faces must not be covered. The
photograph must not include caps, hats, or sunglasses. Candidates are instructed not to
edit/touch-up their photographs.
ii. The candidate has to sign on white paper with blue ink in running hand and also provide
their left thumbprint. The photograph of this document should also be uploaded with the
admission form.

  • Important Instructions for Digitizing Documents for Upload:

i. It should be noted that the candidate will fill out the admission application online through
the portal. Therefore, they should have soft copies of all the documents mentioned
above saved on their computer or mobile device.
ii. The candidate should prepare soft copies of all documents only in JPG/JPEG format.
For this purpose, they can use apps like CamScanner.
iii. The file size should not exceed 2 MB per document.
iv. Upload the images of all original documents only. Photocopies of documents shall not be
accepted.
v. Every document’s image should be clear and readable. Blurred or illegible documents
shall be rejected.
vi. Documents that have printing on both sides, such as identity cards, passports, etc.,
should be prepared as separate files for both front and back sides.
vii. Save each document file with a unique name, and before uploading, ensure that you are
uploading the correct document.
viii. Verification of educational documents is usually done on the backside of the documents.
In such cases, the candidate must upload images of both the front and back sides.
ix. For documents in languages other than English or Urdu (e.g., Arabic, Persian, Chinese,
Spanish, Italian, etc.), candidates must also upload their official notarized/certified
English translations.

It is the responsibility of the candidate to upload the right documents in the correct manner.
Submission of incorrect documents or failure to upload documents properly shall result in the
rejection of the candidate’s application without any notice for which the university shall not be
responsible. Candidates are advised to prepare their documents in a timely manner according to the
given instructions. For creating soft files of their documents, candidates may seek assistance from
an expert or a trusted person. Furthermore, candidates are warned against uploading any fake or
fabricated documents. Otherwise, their applications will be instantly rejected, and legal action may
be taken against them.

About Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) Lahore

Punjab Institute of Cardiology provides quality tertiary care to heart patients. PIC trains post graduate doctors and paramedics in addition to assisting the rest of the cardiac hospitals in the Punjab. Moreover, we run awareness campaigns to educate the masses on preventive measures towards heart diseases.

Background: PIC Admissions MLT CPT

The Punjab Institute of Cardiology, established in 1989, is the first Heart Institute in the Punjab province. It aims to provide excellent care for all types of heart diseases. A large group of well trained adult & pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and cardiac anesthesiologists, who had their training and working experiences in Pakistan and abroad, together with our well-trained and experienced nurses, technicians and other medical staff, provide 24-hour care for all heart diseases. It was established in response to the acute deficiency felt for comprehensive care of cardiac patients. Originally named as “CARDIAC CENTRE”, its foundation stone was laid by Lt. General Ghulam Jilani Khan (Late), the then Governor of Punjab, on November 10, 1984. The hospital was later inaugurated by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the then Chief Minister of Punjab, on October 15,1988. In patient was commissioned on October 5,1990 whereas the first open heart surgery was performed on October 9, 1990.

National Univeristy of Medical Sciences (NUMS) has announced the MBBS and BDS Admissions for session 2023-2024

1. Eligibility Criteria

o Open Merit Seats:

Eligibility Criteria:

a. Pakistani citizens (Including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan) can apply for admission in Army Medical College, Rawalpindi.

b. Passing MDCAT (NUMS)-2023 (Held on Sunday, 03 September 2023) is mandatory. Pass percentage of MDCAT for NUMS is 55% for admission in MBBS Program and 50% for BDS Program.

c. Minimum 60% aggregate marks in FSC (Pre-Medical) or equivalent having minimum twelve years of education in at least three subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics.

o Foreign Seats: (NUMS MBBS Admission 2023)

Foreign Student is a student who holds foreign/dual nationality or is an overseas Pakistani and who has studied and passed HSSC 12th grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan and possess a certificate from the institution last attended to this effect.

Note: Provided that the mandatory requirement of MDCAT shall not apply to students seeking admission on a special program seat predefined exclusively for foreign students and on the seats reserved for overseas Pakistanis. 3. How to Apply

The candidates are required to visit NUMS Website, www.numspak.edu.pk and apply online.

IMPORTANT

a. Possession of CNIC is mandatory for students aged 18 and above at the time of admission.

b. Candidates having foreign qualifications, such as O/A Level etc. shall have to upload the equivalence certificate issued by IBCC at the time of submission of online application, otherwise their application shall be rejected.
